Jesus was a master at the party-stopping, "mic-dropping" statement. In just a few words, Jesus called into question the motives and priorities of those around Him. In Luke 14, Jesus invites us surrender to "self" by taking part in building a Kingdom marked by love, mercy, and compassion.
